3 Project Title : Social Distancing Monitoring and Warning System
Expected Outcome : System that monitors the public gathering and alerts & reminds the people and authorities whenever social distancing is violated.
Expected Timeline :
Remarks : The system uses a camera (preferably high resolution) to view gathering at a public place. The system continuously records the video and sends it to central server through the data network. Simultaneously, the system also analyze the people density in a given sample area. For example, if the sample space spans to area of 100 m2 (actual area depends on the camera and its angular movements) then only 10 people may be allowed in this area (i.e. 10 m2 area per person which may serve as threshold value, actual threshold may vary). The moment 11th person enters into this sample area (area per person < 10 m2) i.e. threshold is violated; a public warning through attached loudspeaker or siren may issued. This may serve as reminder to people to maintain social distancing. Further, based on the previous data and present scenario the system may also analyze that how much the present social distancing violation is likely to grow. This may be used to issue alerts to the authorities that in the sample area social distancing violation may become severe. Furthermore, the video of sample area stored at central server may be processed to identify habitual offenders of social distancing norms. Moreover, certain AI algorithms may also be applied to the processed video that would identify the people who are intentionally spitting/ infecting the public places. The identified people may be verified through “Aadhar” data base for further actions. Salient Features & Deliverables: • Monitors the public gathering in real time. • Analyzing the people density in the given area in real time. • Automated warning if social distancing is violated. • Automated alerts to authorities when threshold is breeched. • Use of congestion prevention and congestion avoidance type of algorithms to predict the possibility of public gathering. • Feeding the live video to central server for online monitoring by authorities. • Storing high quality video on central server for further processing to identify habitual offenders. • Identification of people trying to spread the disease either intentionally or due to depression.

8 Project Title : Development of a Quarantined Patient Health and Location Tracking System with GUI support and breach alert system
Expected Outcome : Due to the pandemic like COVID-19 it is necessary to isolate and quarantine the patients to inhibit the spread of the pandemic. Our objective is the development of a system which we can effectively monitor the patient health data, access the data remotely using a GUI based web application and real-time tracking of patient’s location and raise a breach alert when the patient wanders out of the specified unrestricted area. The system includes a device which is strapped on the patient so the entire solution is non-invasive. The device includes a GPS module for triangulating the location of the patient, Temperature and ECG Sensors for collecting health data and a microcontroller for processing and transmitting the data wirelessly to the server. The server hosts a Web-app which enables the users to visualize the data through its GUI enriched interface. The system also facilitates the real-time tracking of the patient’s location and updates it on the server. If the quarantined patient steps out of the designated area space, an SOS signal is immediately sent to the server and all the responsible authorities are notified pf the breach. Through this system, we aim at containing the patients to a safe-space while keeping track of the health and thus preventing the further spread of the pandemic due to the affected individuals.
Expected Timeline : 30 days or less
Remarks : For development of the prototype the device and the GUI based web-app, successful testing and recording of the test data-sets from the patients to set up the database and deploying the server and it’s testing.

9 Project Title : Development of a progressive web application for intelligent cost optimization using IOT in hotels, post COVID-19 pandemic
Expected Outcome : A progressive web application (PWA) aimed at consumers and hotel owners to optimize the costs pertaining in the operations, post COVID-19 pandemic situation. Due to the imposed 40 day lockdown for the public safety, various industries are currently in loss and would be finding an optimal solution to this problem. We, in this project, will design a novel technique to monitor the variable costs viz. Electricity consumption, Water consumption, etc. and give an optimization solution for a viable operation in a hotel. The technique will be mapped through a PWA with the enterprise owner and the consumer as well, to monitor the consumption details in real time through IOT sensors. The novelty of the idea lies in the automatic transition of manual optimization to automatic using Deep Neural Networks to enhance the performance, once we have obtained a minimum amount of data. The PWA, unlike usual applications, requires a lot less resources to function.
Expected Timeline : 60 days or less
Remarks : A prototype of the PWA and related IOT hardware can be ready for the trial implementation and data acquiring within the designated timeline

Use Drones to capture the images of individuals and process in real-time images and see if some individual is suffering from COVID-19 symptoms (like coughing, sneezing, etc) using image processing and machine learning techniques. 2. Use Drones to sanitize specific places. 3. Collect the data and use the same for detecting the social contacts of a COVID -19 patient.
Expected Timeline : 6 months - 1 year
Remarks : Need of the hour is to trace the social contacts of the COVID-19 infected person and to test the individuals without contacting the individual from a distance. This proposal aims to achieve these objectives with the help of a Drona.
